Building a vibrant, campaigning, united, progressive, responsive, agile and progressive civil society movement requires leaders and their organisations to put aside party professional jealousies and focus. We are stronger together.

From Friday, 19 March till today, Sunday, 21 March the #NEDLACCommunityConstituency hosted a POLICY SCHOOL to sharpen the next steps that must be undertaken in building a vibrant civil society movement. This POLICY SCHOOL was hosted under the theme "BUILDING AND REPOSITIONING THE CIVIL SOCIETY VOICE FOR ADVANCING SOCIO-ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION" and it was a resounding success. The success will depend on translating the great and incisive talk into sustainable action.

The outcomes of the Policy school will be shared through provincial engagements as well as engaging with stakeholders like the NDA, NLC, MISTRA, other NEDLAC Constituencies (Government, Busines and Labour) for collective action.

As the Community Constituency Front we are proud that our founding member organisations, SANAC Civil Society Forum and
NEDLAC Community Trust representing the #nedlaccommunityconstituency sre
fully behind the establishment of a united, progressive and campaigning civil society movement. The Community Constituency Front is a campaign to implement COMMUNITY BASED MEASURES in responding to COVID-19.

Ending the Policy School on HUMAN RIGHTS DAY is a great challenge for all of us. It is a challenge that says STOP TALKING AND START ACTING.

We look forward to the engagements in Provinces and Districts about the outcomes of the Policy School.

Today, Access Chapter 2 launches the LGBTI+ inclusive advocacy-based COVID-19 Responses Campaign. The campaign will reflect on how this global pandemic has had a disproportionately negative impact on vulnerable and minority groups, specifically, LGBTI+ persons.

AC2 will further address the severe impact and human rights violations experienced by LGBTI+ persons, including access to public services and accurate information; food security, job loss and domestic violence.

In doing so, we will highlight the ongoing inequalities in our society and how they were exasperated by the pandemic. The campaign will also shed light on the ways in which AC2 and other organizations in South Africa continue to offer support to the marginalized communities, and how you can show your support and lend a helping hand to those in need.
